A Catalyst For Change In Society: In Support Of Women Centric Scripts

I endorse that indian Society is a cinema-oriented society. Women-centric scripts are needed of the hour, and for a few souls, it becomes a turning point in their lives. It is a source of inspiration. Films act largely as social mirrors.
They give a true reflection of society about its norms and core values. Women-centric scripts, if executed well in the making of a movie, not only generate high sales in terms of productivity but certainly leave a mark in indian cinema and for decades on the masses, and irrespective of it, touches every caste, class, race, religion and addresses socially relevant issues that exist in society.
1) Relevant And Strong Scriptwriter’s Accountability In The Indian Cinema Industry:
It is the supreme responsibility of a scriptwriter that the stories shown through Indian cinema should be written keeping in mind the female characters, though there are some exceptions also. Sometimes people, while highlighting male heroism they forget that women not only exist in relation to men but they are not only the mothers, wives, daughters and especially their lovers, but there is one more face of women that is “unattached women.”‘
Strong depiction and through movies in this area of the entertainment industry is an effective tool which can reach the masses with such a women-centric script appeal. Scriptwriters are responsible for the core of the film and the overall narration of the character; powerful dialogues shape the entire production process. It’s a process, not a fake show business.
Satyajit Ray, Vishal Bhardwaj, Abhishek Chaubey, Vidhu Vinod Chopra and Chuni Lal Madia, Ketan Mehta are eminent scriptwriters in indian cinema, and more, they today hold a remarkable place and are considered the most dignified personas in indian cinema history.
2) Powerful Script and Portrayal of Rebel Women
Rebelliousness need not always be definitive and even approved with in the narration structure within at times it can be part of the discourse on modernity and perceived as a potential threat to patriarchy through values of education and independence now the question arises what so far has been done there are so far beautiful and positive annotations been done in the Script such as Mirch Masala, Damini, Mrityudand, Gulabi Gang, Astitva these upholds traditional values and the courage
3) Challenges Faced By Scriptwriters While Portraying Traditional Stereotypes Of Strong Women Characters
Today, the time has changed, with the advent of globalisation, feminism has emerged as one of the most discussed topics in the country. Everyone is taking a step to make some contribution to the cause of women’s empowerment, and Bollywood is not lagging behind. These days, some of the daring and sensitive filmmakers are trying to break the stereotypes set by mainstream by choosing strong women-centric scripts in the Indian cinema industry.
In the last few years, many movies have been made from a woman’s perspective, which have received a very good response from the public. Directors are now getting serious and choosing women-centric scriptwriters who are ready to take on social issues to give a voice to the marginalised sections of society, especially women.
A few movies are Chameli, Astitva, Dirty Picture, Mary Kom, Mardani, etc. These movies have redefined the role played by women characters by picturising the extraordinary but important themes related to women. These movies represent the desires, conflicts, and aspirations of women. She is being put at the centre of the storyline, and he is playing a role which is attached to her. A very bold script movie name “Rihaee” treats the gender subject a little differently by presenting an alternative image of women.
Another movie, ‘Astitva’, incisive and highly pitched as a feminist film, also raises questions that raise the very issue of the existence of a woman. It is justifiably titled Astitva as the film demands space and identity for the fulfilment of being a woman within the institution of marriage. It is an appeal to break their silence and consolidate themselves for the final social crusade.
4) In The Flavourful World Of Spices, The Mirch Masala movie
It holds a powerful Script marked the centre stage: Its story was based on a Gujarati short story titled Abhu Makrani by Chunilal Madia. In SON BAI Character SMITA PATIL acting breathing through Script was a clear cut shout out to all who immensely support patriarchy and it’s fake ideas. This Movie script and the impactful acting of all touched the heart of every caste, class, race, and religion and addressed different socially relevant issues. It depicts the individual courage of women, the power of collective resistance, and the fight against abuse of power and social injustice.
5) Hats Off To Powerful Scripts And Scriptwriters Who Set A Benchmark In The History Of Indian cinema
Mrityudand is a feminist tale and carries a human spirit in its capacity to fight for justice, equality, and sheds tremendous light on Education for women and to elevate the standards of women. The Script is so captivating and gives this powerful message that women are not meant to be a symbol where society creates its mythological images. It’s more about breaking the stereotypical image within boundaries, creating boundaries where men are not allowed to break her dignity and dilute her space.
5) Conclusion: Indian Cinema Is Not Only Popular In India, But Also In The Whole World
Around 1000 movies are released in one year in Bollywood, which is more than in any other country. Hollywood also releases only 500 movies per year. This medium is accessible to all sections of society, so it has more responsibility than any other medium of entertainment and communication. Films should portray an image of women in a rationalistic and humanistic point of view.
Though the main aim of this industry is to earn huge profits but it should not forget about its social responsibility. Indians love Bollywood than anything else, and actors and actresses . It is the responsibility of the Indian cinema to play an active role in shaping the mindset of its people about women’s issues and women’s concerns. It can become a strong medium of social change because of its tremendous mass appeal.
