Arushi Nishank is a Renowned Indian Actor , Filmmaker and Social Entrepreneur

Arushi Nishank, an Indian actor, filmmaker, social activist, and TEDx speaker, is all set to represent India at the prestigious Cannes Film Festival 2025. Backed by the National Film Development Corporation (NFDC), her participation will highlight not just cinematic excellence but also a powerful environmental message. A standout feature will be her unique costume made entirely of waste materials, embodying the principles of the circular economy—something she has long advocated.
Arushi’s journey to global recognition has been as inspiring as it is impactful. She rose to fame through her music albums Wafa Na Raas Aayee and Teri Galliyon Se, released by T-Series and Zee Music Company respectively, which collectively garnered over 400 million views worldwide. Transitioning from performing to producing, she made her mark with the web series Life Hill Gayi under her banner Himshrri Films in collaboration with Disney+ Hotstar. The series earned her international acclaim for its portrayal of the socio-cultural divide between “India” and “Bharat.”
Her cinematic footprint has since expanded, with projects on Amazon Prime, Netflix, and Hotstar, all reflecting her commitment to powerful storytelling with social depth.
Beyond entertainment, Arushi has made profound contributions to social causes. As the founder of Sparsh Ganga Abhiyaan, a global movement endorsed by the UN and the Government of India, she has mobilized over five lakh people for the preservation of the Ganga River. Her efforts in promoting the Namami Gange mission and enabling waste upcycling in the Himalayan regions have empowered hundreds of women, earning her the moniker “River Lady.”
An advocate for environmental sustainability and women’s rights, she also serves as Chairperson of IWEP (International Women Empowerment Program), recognized by UNICEF and the UAE Government. The program gained international attention for hosting the first World Women Parliament in the UAE, leading to her inclusion in Forbes Middle East’s list of global power women.
Her accolades include the Champions of Change Award, Black Swan Sustainability Award, Global Water Woman Entrepreneur Award (UK), Top 100 Global Women Achievers (US), UN Earth Day Network Star Award, and the title Fresh Face of Bollywood in Dubai.
Arushi Nishank’s journey is a testament to how art, activism, and purpose can seamlessly merge to create lasting global impact.
